Br. She has been at Christ Church since 2010. She earned an M.S. Warden

Jackie Berry

  Send Email

Jackie Berry is the newly elected senior warden of Christ Church Red Hook where she has been a member since 2014. Coincidentally, she joined the church when fellow warden Mr. Lloyd Payne and his wife one evening asked Jackie and her family to join them for the Christmas Eve service. Since then, Jackie, husband Chris, and son Grey, have been regular attendees serving on the vestry and various committees, and participating in Sunday school. A cognitive scientist, entrepreneur, and the current Mrs. Dutchess County New York, Dr. Berry loves Christ Church because the people are a tight knit group (like a family!) who are deeply entrenched within the community.

Warden

Damien Lloyd Payne

A member of the parish since 2008, Damien, his wife Louise and their two children Willow and Caleb have been active members ever since.  Previously Damien has served twice a 3 year term on the vestry and headed our most recent Search Committee for a new priest in charge.

Damien is a helicopter pilot currently flying the Sikorsky S76, and will be one of the first to fly the new Airbus H160 in America. Originally from England, he still enjoys his soccer (football) as an avid Leeds Utd supporter and also as a soccer referee for USSF, NIOSA and NFHS.

Treasurer

Gary Duval

I have been a member of Christ Church since 2010  along with my wife Linda who is the current Deacon of Christ Church.  I have recently accepted the position as church treasurer.  I am now retired after spending 39 years with IBM spending most of my time in large scale systems test and quality control.  My daughter Michelle and her husband Jarod along with my grandson Mason are also part of the Christ Church congregation.  I also have a 11 year granddaughter Nella who enjoys coming to church and I bring her on a regular basis.

My wife and I don't live in Red Hook but after joining Christ Church we have always felt welcomed by the atmosphere and friendly people we have met here.  After retiring I became a regular volunteer in our churches thrift shop.   If anyone is interested we are always looking for volunteers to work at our thrift shop.  It's a good place to help out and meet people.

Louise serves as Vestry member and previously as Clerk to the Vestry, and has been on the vestry for 2 terms. She moved to Red Hook in 2008 and has been a very active member in the church, particularly with the younger members.

Louise has taught Sunday School at Christ Church for over 10 years since her own kids were old enough to attend, and ran the program with help from Jen Roeder and all the other teachers and door people for much of that time.

Instigator of The Christ Church TP Challenge during the Covid-19 crisis, Louise is always looking for ways to bring Christ Church to the community and members of the church together and is a valued member of the outreach committee on the vestry

Rachel is a lifelong Episcoplian. Since joining Christ Church five years ago she has felt more and more compelled to participate in the life of the Church beyond Sunday morning. With her focus on outreach she hopes to support Christ Church's continued effort to be an inclusive community that serves the spiritual needs of all people. She is a mother to four young daughters and the Executive Chef of a year round residential community of young adults on the autism spectrum. She also loves biking, swimming, pop culture and cashmere.

Bookeeper

Dave Nandor

David Nandor is a native of western Pennsylvania, from a small town just south of Pittsburgh.  I attended Ohio State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.  My first job was with the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade, Md. in systems computing.  After 4 years at NSA, I accepted a direct commission in the US Army in the Army Security Agency, serving with the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam in 1968 – 1969.  Following my Army service, I joined IBM in Poughkeepsie in 1970 and retired in December 2012 after a 42 year career.  My IBM career involved many aspects of the Information Technology industry including software engineering, software engineering management, special projects with Cornell University, business relations with leading industry software firms, and business development.  My retirement time, outside of Christ Church, is spent on my interests of sporting clays shooting, photography, and WWII history.

My wife Susan sadly passed in 2020 after 50+ wonderful years though I am still blessed with three fabulous children, Sarah (and her husband Joe), Jon, and Hannah (and her husband Jared), three beautiful grandchildren, Sydney, Meredith, and Natalie, and three energetic grand dogs, Kingston, Titus, and Leo.

I have been a parishioner of Christ Church since 1984.  The church has provided me with a deeper understanding of my individual role in my family, the community and the world through the love of Christ.  My life is led by pursuing a deeper understanding of scripture, Episcopal tradition, and reason as it applies to all aspects of my life.
