Advent 1
Greetings in Christ!
I trust you had a pleasant Thanksgiving, even if separate from some loved ones you missed at the table.
Attached please find the liturgy for Morning Prayer with the proper readings for the first Sunday of Advent tomorrow.  I hope that it is a helpful resource for prayer on your own or with your household.  I will be posting a video reflection later today which I hope sheds some light on this challenging reading from the Gospel of Mark for Sunday.
We will not meet in person tomorrow as we await the installation of the new church furnace.  That work is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.  Later in the week the vestry and I will determine whether to resume in-person worship based on the positivity rate and number of new cases in the area.  I will send an email late next week with the decision.  We will evaluate being together in person week-by-week as the presence of the virus persists.
The Holiday Bake Sale is open today until 3:00pm, so please do pick up a plate or two of some great homemade treats!
The arrival of the season of Advent is an invitation to renew our hope and await with fresh eagerness the coming of the Savior, who came in Bethlehem and whose same flesh reigns in heaven and will come again to restore the world.
Stay healthy and hopeful,
Br. Randy
