Palm Sunday

Dear Friends in Christ,

Attached please find the Liturgy of Morning Prayer for Palm Sunday and on the website there is a flyer reminder of the times of services next week.  Since we are not meeting in person tomorrow, I am leaving a vase with palm leaves in front of the church if you would like to pick up a few tomorrow. I find them a helpful symbol of the drama of Holy Week and of the love of Christ which unifies and overcomes rejection, betrayal, suffering and death and in the empty tomb is the conquering of the very power of death itself by love.

The liturgies are altered so that you are able to remain in your seat for the whole service - no foot washing on Maundy Thursday, Veneration of the Cross on Good Friday, or Flowering of the Cross on Easter Day.  Communion in one kind will be brought to you.  I am hopeful that congregational singing will resume by the summer, but in the meantime we may not sing together.

I know from our virtual coffee hour times on Sunday that many of us are receiving vaccines and other appointments are scheduled for the coming weeks. I am grateful to have received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine this morning.

Let us continue to hold one another in prayer for health and zeal and that we may be faithful servants of Christ who for our sake suffered death and for our salvation is raised to life everlasting.
