Description

Greetings on this beautiful winter morning!

Please find attached the liturgy for Morning Prayer for the First Sunday in Lent, February 21.  We have begun our pilgrimage to the cross and empty tomb, asking God to purify our hearts so that we might offer fitting praise and thanks as free and grateful creatures.  The self-denial, the taking-on or giving up of Lent is not an end in itself as if we were in need of punishment, but rather the use of our freedom in Christ to cast off our selfish ways and be more fully united with Christ in his love for us and the world.

Thank you to those who have volunteered time in the Thrift Shop.  The regular volunteers welcome any and all help, so please consider offering a few hours to support this important ministry.

Last Sunday during our virtual coffee hour on Zoom, we found ourselves laughing as we shared stories of interesting places we had visited and some of the funny things that happened.  I was thankful for a much needed boost of joy and hope and for this community's resilience and care for each other.  I encourage you to join us on Sundays at 10:00 AM through Jackie's email invitation.

Stay healthy and hopeful,
Br. Randy
