Senior Warden

Dave Nandor

David Nandor is a native of western Pennsylvania, from a small town just south of Pittsburgh.  I attended Ohio State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.  My first job was with the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade, Md. in systems computing.  After 4 years at NSA, I accepted a direct commission in the US Army in the Army Security Agency, serving with the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam in 1968 – 1969.  Following my Army service, I joined IBM in Poughkeepsie in 1970 and retired in December 2012 after a 42 year career.  My IBM career involved many aspects of the Information Technology industry including software engineering, software engineering management, special projects with Cornell University, business relations with leading industry software firms, and business development.  My retirement time, outside of Christ Church, is spent on my interests of sporting clays shooting, photography, and WWII history.

I am blessed with a wonderful wife, Susan, who has endured me for 50+ years, three fabulous children, Sarah (and her husband Joe), Jon, and Hannah (and her husband Jared), three beautiful grandchildren, Sydney, Meredith, and Natalie, and three energetic grand dogs, Kingston, Titus, and Leo.

I have been a parishioner of Christ Church since 1984.  The church has provided me with a deeper understanding of my individual role in my family, the community and the world through the love of Christ.  My life is led by pursuing a deeper understanding of scripture, Episcopal tradition, and reason as it applies to all aspects of my life.

I was born a "war orphan" on 8/3/44. When I was 7 my mother remarried and we moved to "suburbialand" N.J., mostly in Glen Rock, Bergan County in north Jersey. While there I attended Catholic grade school and High School before attending college. I graduated from Marist in 1968.

I was employed by the Dutchess County Dept. of Social Services for 32+ years, first as a Caseworker then later as an Investigator in the Special Investigations Unit. Afterward I became a Program Manager in Public Assistance and Medicaid which included Supervising the agencies Home Care Unit. I retired in December 2001.  It was at DSS that I met Alice and later talked her into marrying me. An excellent decision on her part! We were wed at Christ Church on 9/3/1983. We were blessed with a daughter, Kara, who is now 32 and pursuing her own dreams in Portland Oregon.

Today my interests include golf, volleyball, occasional bike rides with Alice, model railroading and anything having to do with WWII.

Sunday School Chair

Louise Lloyd Payne

Louise has been teaching Sunday School at Christ Church since her own kids were old enough to attend, (over 10 years now) and runs the program with help from Jen Roeder and all the other teachers and door people. She has been trained in the Montessori based lessons and has a patient, calming and friendly manner that the kids latch on to and make these classes very special.

Louise loves to keep the Godly Play program alive and new - keeping the kids wanting to come back for more.  As the children grow older, they split off to an older group and on Sunday's between 9 and 10am meet with Br. Randy and Deacon Linda and have a more adult based converastion about their faith. Both groups come together for field trips and other social events

Sunday School is an interactive and excellent grounding for the screen generation and Louise and the kids welcome everyone to give it a try every Sunday during School term time at 10am. Parents can stay with their children until they are happy to be there by themselves ;)  so please come give us a try, you will be made most welcome.  See you soon!
